Manaradan Dance
Rungus Culture
Location: Kg. Bavanggazo Matunggong Kudat
This is Rungus traditional dance called Manaradan
which is known among the community of Dusunic as a
Magunatip Dance.
This dance is usually danced by women and
men only play the bamboo which is use in
this dance music.
This is also different strains of music with
sumundai-Mogigol.
Mongigol Sumundai
This dance is performed by one male and several females.
Sumundai-dance perform gongs.
The musical instruments used consists of 4 gongs and a drum called Tontog.
The women will narrow her shoulders of
each other and moving their wrist slowly and gently. When men and women
dance together,
it is called "miandak" in Rungus. Sumundai-Mongigol danced when
Kaamatan festival,ritual spirit, weddings, deaths, entertainment, or
when a special reception.
