The Miracle of Patrick

HE IS NOT DEAD! See all the pics to witness his incredible recovery!
Patrick was starved for so long he was no longer able to walk and his skin had sunk into the cavity of his hip bones and spinal column. Then sometime last week, the 1-year-old pit bull was put in a garbage bag and tossed down a trash chute at the Garden Spires apartment building in Newark.

March 16, 2011: An emaciated Pitbull-mix is discovered in a garbage bag by maintenance workers at the bottom of a 19-story tall garbage chute. The dog is immobile, but ALIVE. This is how he looked on arrival that Newark's animal shelter that night.

March 17, 2011: Once stabilized, he's moved to GSVS Pet Hospital for continuous intensive care. It is now St. Patrick's Day, and the GSVS staff decide to call him Patrick.

After a few days, he could sit up again.

March 22, 2011- Bright lights still hurt his eyes.

Here he sits among gifts his fans were already sending him.

His first poop since being rescued. If there's something coming out, it means his system is working- a major milestone in his recovery.

Easter, late April 2011- six weeks into recovery.

October, 2011- 8 months into recovery.

Christmas 2011....9 months into his recovery.

Patrick is NOT overweight! This picture is just a zoom lense closeup so it just makes him look a whole lot of plump... a trick of the lens.
